Carrubbers

Coming from Marrakesh to Edinburgh was like flipping a switch from summer (100 F) to fall (50 F). After what felt like 7 straight days of being a damp, sweaty mess, the coolness was so delightful. Having not found a place to live yet, my stuff was stored at my friend Sonia’s while I stayed first at Bronte’s and then over to my friend Olivia’s. I was able to stay in Olivia’s spare bedroom for about a month while I found a place to live. I cried when Meg left and I miss her all the time. There are lots of friends to be made– people from my program, new students moving in, etc. It’s not the same though. I spent much of the first few weeks back sleeping and listening to books on audiobooks playing solitaire which I felt guilty about at the time but it has truly been an exhausting second half of summer– ever since girls camp and that disaster of a Woodgrain trip. Seminary finally got into a routine after my weeks of exhausted travel and I came to like it even more.
