After going to bed at midnight, we were up at 7 the next day to walk around Rome. (Morning people!!) We went to Trevi Fountain, than over to the Spanish Steps, than up to the Galleria Borghese. I loved the museum, it had a ton of incredible sculptures. We walked around then made our way to the Pantheon, wandering into a bunch of churches, then made our way over to the Tiber which I got confused with the Rubicon. By this point we had walked about 11 miles and I was exhausted. Camille and I were operating on very little sleep, it was so hot, Taylor and Claire (hikers that they are) looked like they weren’t even breaking a sweat. I suggest that we break for a few hours, get showered and meet up for dinner and they are like “Great lets walk to the metro, its like a 10 minute walk” and they failed to mention that it was 10 min uphill and at this point I feel like I am going to pass out. I look over at Camille who looks like she is doing fine and I am like “Am I just insanely out of shape, what is going on.” We get to the Metro, get back to our hotel and Camille says “I AM AT MY PHSYCIAL BREAKING POINT” which made me happy because I was like, its not just me! We got dinner and said goodbye and then Camille and I got ready to wake up at 3am ONCE AGAIN to catch a flight.
I really liked Rome, it is such an incredible city and I for sure what to go back but for goodness sake not when it is so hot.
